Braid, as the name suggests, is constructed by merging separate synthetic fibres into one stretch of fabric. Essentially, braid fishing line is made using the same actions as one would braid someone’s hair. Man made fibres such as Microdyneema, Spectra and Dacron are commonly used. Braid typically has a smaller diameter compared to monofilament line of similar strength and can be easily coloured to suit angler’s particular preferences or to suit the conditions in which the line is being used.
FINS is a great all-round Spectra braid with a tough urethane coating. A great choice for finesse fishing, casting into heavy structure, or reef fishing where durability and strength are paramount. FINS is easy to use and offers excellent castability, knot strength and colour retention.
