Rather than use a single hook to catch your live bait, why don’t you use the 1/0 Mustad Red Flasher, with its 3 sets of flashy, pink-coloured, tinse- flash material? It is quick and easy to use. All you need to do is tie on the sinker that you need, attach it to your mainline and lower away. Once it has reached the bottom you will need to turn the handle a couple of times.
Jig up and down for the best results, but you could just sit the rod in the rod-holder and let the motion of the boat do the work for you. If you are not having a lot of success, you can also cut up a few small pieces of bait and put it on... each hook.
