The Sunline Tapered leader should be tied to your thick-weighted line used for casting on one end, and then tied to a piece of Tippet on the other side. Because leader line has a much finer diameter, nearby fish are unlikely to see your line and be scared away.
When fly fishing, you want the lightest line possible, but at the same time you need it to be strong and durable to avoid a fish busting you off. The Sunline Tapered leader is a great mix of these 2 factors. It has a 7-pound breaking strength which is ideal for both rainbow and brown trout.
